Cherry Shaker Table
This Shaker style table was built as a project during an 8 week intensive course and the New England School of Architectural Woodworking. All components of the piece were milled from a single rough cherry board. The table legs and aprons are joined with mortise and tenon, and the the book-matched top is connected with specialty hardware. The large knot-hole in one leg was left open as a reminder that when working with wood, it is far better to embrace the natural variations than to try to hide them away.
Home Cabinet
This small cabinet was built as part of an 8 week intensive course at the New England School of Architectural Woodworking. It features a four way book-match veneered top and book-matched side panels. The hard maple face-frame is joined to a maple plywood carcass using typical cabinet construction methods. The door is made of hard maple rails and stiles, with a panel of soft maple inset. The drawer is faced with hard maple attached to a dovetailed soft maple drawer box. All solid wood elements including trim were milled from rough lumber specifically chosen for the project.
Concrete and Plywood Side Tables
Matched set of side tables designed and built from reclaimed plywood, steel pipe and concrete. The tops are laminated 1/4″ plywood strips in three colors with solid wood edge trim. The steel pipe leg is connected by flange to the underside of the table top and to bolts embedded in the concrete base.
